3. Requirements

Mac
1. OS-X only, OS 9 will not work.
2. Safari or Firefox – Microsoft Internet Explorer can access some of the functions but will not allow you to use the most important functions, and some versions may not work at all.

PC
1. Windows XP or Vista
2. Microsoft Internet Explorer or Firefox.
3. JAVA – Sun Microsystems version of JAVA must be downloaded and enabled on the system.

All Users
1. An internet connection. DSL or better. The faster the better.
2. A User Name and Password must be established in advance, as it can’t be created online. This will need to be enabled by your Customer Service Representative here at The Ovid Bell Press.
a. User Name – can be anything that has not already been taken.
b. Password must be a “strong” password. That is; at least 8 characters long with one each of a Capitol letter,lower case letter, and a number included.

System Diagnostics will give you information about a variety of conditions on your machine and its compatibility for Insite and check the version of Java in use.

If your version of Java needs to be updated, follow the link to the Sun website and download. We recommend doing the “offline” installation of Java using the “typical” install.
